Nicole Denjoy is the COCIR Secretary General since 2005 and is based in Brussels.
Nicole has gathered more than 30 years of experience in the medical technology industry, working for companies including L’air Liquide, Ohmeda, Boston Scientific and Baxter. Nicole has a Master in Organisation and Change Management.
Nicole represents COCIR in a variety of influential fora at European Level as well as at international level. Nicole is also Vice-Chair of DITTA, the Global Trade Association representing Medical Imaging, Radiation Therapy and Healthcare IT Industry (www.globalditta.org ) and leads the DITTA Industry in official relationships with WHO since DITTA was granted a NGO status.
In addition, and since May 2010, Nicole is Chair of the BIAC Health Committee representing the private business sector in front of the OECD Health Committee.
 

Dr. Naoko Yamamoto has been appointed Assistant Director General for Universal Health Coverage and Health Systems. Dr. Yamamoto brings nearly 30 years of experience working on health in Japan and most recently served as Senior Assistant Minister for Global Heath in Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. In this capacity, she was heavily involved in Japan’s global health leadership, including hosting and organizing the International Conference on Universal Health Coverage in 2015 and supporting the compilation of the G7 Ise-Shima Vision for Global Health and Kobe Communique of the G7 Health Ministers’ Meeting in 2016, both of which highlighted the importance of promoting UHC. Prior to this role, she served in numerous health-related positions within the government of Japan, including as Director General of the Hokkaido Regional Bureau of Health and Welfare, Director of the Health and Medical Division at the Ministry of Defense, and Counsellor to the Permanent Mission of Japan to the United Nations. She holds a medical degree, a PhD in epidemiology and a Masters in Public Health.

Dr. Emmanuel A. Odame is a seasoned health economist with background in medicine, health policy formulation, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Ghana Medical School as well as a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the University of Ghana.

Michael Kent Ranson is a Senior Economist (Health), based in the World Bank office in Geneva. He leads several activities within the Health Financing Global Solutions Group of the World Bank. Prior to joining the World Bank, he researched, wrote and taught on health financing and system issues, first as a lecturer at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and later at the World Health Organization.
Dr Ranson has also served as a member of the Global Financing Facility’s business planning team and, more recently, organised the Second Annual Universal Health Coverage Financing Forum, hosted by the World Bank Group and USAID.
He holds a MD from McMaster University (Canada), a MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health (USA), and a DPhil in health economics and financing from LSHTM (London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine ) (UK).

Diana Silimperi is an international public health pediatrician and epidemiologist. She brings nearly 30 years of global experience leading the planning, design and implementation of primary health care and health system strengthening programs in more than 25 developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Silimperi has specialized in the design, implementation and monitoring of maternal, newborn and child health, family planning and TB/HIV program interventions, working with both the public and private sectors.
Silimperi leads Abt Associates’ global health portfolio, which includes nearly 1,400 staff members working in approximately 60 developing countries. Before joining Abt in 2012, Silimperi was Vice President of the Center for Health Services at Management Sciences for Health (MSH), where she managed 750 staff members in more than 25 countries and focused on expanding the coverage of quality care as well as strengthening financial health systems.
Silimperi is a distinguished expert in health system strengthening, with in-depth experience in quality of care, performance-based financing and the rebuilding of systems in post-conflict countries. Throughout her career, she has been an advocate for equitable access to health care and for the special health care needs of the urban poor. She is an expert in urban health systems and a founding member of the International Society for Urban Health.
Silimperi earned both her B.S. in Zoology/Psychology and her M.D. from Duke University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Greg Perry joined IFPMA on 1st February 2018, and has responsibility for IFPMA’s external outreach and stakeholder engagement in global health topics including innovation, access, and the international regulatory environment. Greg Perry brought with him more than 20 years’ leadership and advocacy experience in the public healthcare arena.
Prior to joining IFPMA, Greg worked as Executive Director of the Medicines Patent Pool, which he joined in 2013 and as Director General of the European Generic Medicines Association (1999 – 2013) in Brussels. Previously he worked as a partner in a UK public affairs company as a European Union policy advisor to corporate and non-governmental organizations, and before that as a Parliamentary Advisor to Members of the European Parliament. Greg is a Member of the Advisory Council of the Organization for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA) and is a former member of the Standing Advisory Committee before the European Patent Office (SACEPO). Greg also holds the Golden Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland.

Dr Mariângela Batista Galvão Simão from Brazil has been appointed Assistant Director-General for Drug Access, Vaccines and Pharmaceuticals. Most recently, she was Director of Community Support, Social Justice and Inclusion at UNAIDS. In addition to her work at UNAIDS, she brings more than 30 years of experience working in the Brazilian public health system and has played an active role in enhancing access and decentralizing health services in the country. Between 2006 and 2010, she served as Director of the National STD/AIDS and Viral Hepatitis Department in the Brazilian Ministry of Health, where she led successful price negotiations with pharmaceutical companies to lower the price of HIV medication. During this time, she also represented the Brazilian Ministry of Health in the negotiations that led to the constitution of UNITAID in 2006, including its governing body, where she served as a board member until 2008. She was trained as a paediatrician in Brazil and holds an MSc degree in public health from University of London, United Kingdom.
