As finance ministers and central bank governors meet in Bangkok for the IMF-World Bank meetings, the week’s agenda will rightly focus on growth, financial stability, and the global economy.
Part of that agenda must be how demography will impact on the world’s economy. ILC is heading to Bangkok to host a series of events to ensure long lives can drive an economic opportunity rather than a fiscal burden.
IFPMA is supporting ILC with developing the Longevity Dividend Modelling Framework (LDMF), an initiative designed to explore the potential fiscal and economic impacts of demographic change and healthy ageing.
ILC is convening discussions to review and test the framework’s preliminary assumptions, methodology and outputs with a small group of technical experts and policy specialists. It will be an opportunity to gather perspectives on the framework’s relevance, usability and potential applications in assessing the economic value of healthy ageing, prevention, workforce participation and sustainable economic growth
ILC will host a high-level roundtable on 15 October, and an informal dinner on 14 October. For those unable to join in Bangkok, an online webinar will be organized to present the early findings from the LDMF.
Places are limited and by invitation only. If you are interested in attending the roundtable, dinner or webinar, please register your interest by emailing events@ilcuk.org.uk.
Information about the LDMF initiative can be found here.
